as both have been proven in other countries to lower cholesterol. I currently take those two, flax seed oil, soy lethicin, niacin, and stopped eating meat. My cholesterol went from 283 to 175 without statin drugs.
I'm on prescription time release niacin that is 500 mg. Time release part is suppose to help but the effects are still pretty wicked at that dosage.

No meat here, I'm a vegetarian.
