I read this tip somewhere: Take a bag and fill it up with books until it weighs the same as the amount you want to take off. Carry the bag on your back for a few hours as you walk around, do house chores etc. Then remove, feel the relief and imagine what it would feel like to stop carrying around the same amount of weight.
