I had that problem about 4 months ago, drove me crazy.
After tons of tech support (including resetting with the card out) we finally found it was the second tuner connection wasn't right (the add on filter to get the certain satelite channels where most the hd content comes from)...we found that by switching the two connections to the two tuners...the direct tv dvrs by default use the second tuner to record (unless you are already watching and then decide to record)
You can check that out by looking at the upper satelite signals signal strength, and see if both tuners are getting the same strength
Switched out the bad piece and all pixelation dissapeared (except during our rare (cough) S Florida rainstorms)
