I could use (and would really appreciate) your input...
Title 18 USC Section 2257 information and TGP's.... it seems status quo among TGP owners that there is no legal requirement or obligation to provide 2257 information for the content served or advertised by the tgp...
I'm not here to agree or disagree... I'd appreciate your thoughts, and the thoughts of anyone else that cares to share:
What facet of the TGP business model makes a TGP exempt from 2257 requirements, if it truly, legally is? We know that you're not producing or involved in the production of the content and you're not a paysite, so those are two things that work in your favor....
But without a doubt TGP's are among the largest pornographic 'windows' in the adult industry...
I've pissed off a TGP owner because of this issue...he feels very strongly against 2257 information for his TGP... he didn't state any legal/ethical reasoning for not including 2257 info... just that it would be time consuming to list that...(like most tgp's, he uses a lot of sponsor content/hosted galleries).. and would be a waste ad and other real estate on his site.
He mentioned something that's a definite: We'll run into this issue with TGP's again because our affiliate agreement requires 2257 info. I'm willing to reevaluate the need for this, but not without much consideration. I'm posting this thread and hoping to get some valid responses.
