My net has been shit the last couple days, so I'm trying to catch up on what I couldnt do the last couple days, its still slow as hell, but at least it seems to be connected 100% of the time, they wont be able to get anyone out there to fix it for another week.
Had an adventure last night. We got some snow, maybe 3 inches with wind, so there was some drifting. We were bored as hell, the net wasnt working, so we took the 4x4 out to check out the snow. Found ourselves coming up on a bad spot, went to kick on the 4 wheel drive and it didnt come on and we ended up getting stuck. So I find out my 4 wheel drive isnt working and I'm stuck. I was like WTF, it doesnt even look that bad. I get out after trying to get myself unstuck and I find myself in waist deep snow. Guess it was an area where the road dipped down and the fields on the sides of the road were higher than the road and the wind filled in the road with snow that was 3 feet deep. So we call my father in law who drives a big ass proprane delivery truck to come bail us out. While he's pulling us out his ass end goes a little wild and he ends up getting stuck. I ended up spending damn near 4 hours digging a big ass bobtail proprane truck out, and after digging him out he was able to pull us out. For about 2 hours, there was some punk kid who must have been 16 or 17 years old watching us, and every once in a while offering up some smart ass comments, but no help. Right after we finally get pulled out, that dumb son of a bitch tried to go thru in his little 2WD fucking Ford Ranger. Of course he gets stuck. Before my father in law got there, I was trying to dig us out with out a snow shovel, I had a little tool box in the back of our Explorer, emptied the tools out and was trying to scoop the snow with that, haha, which wasnt successful. Mind you its like 15 degrees out with 20mph winds, I didnt have boots on, just my regular tennis shoes, so my feet were totally frozen, I had to warm my feet up ASAP. So I pull up to a safe zone and my poor father in law spends another 45 minutes pulling out the stupid mouthy kid.
Guess before I go out on anymore snow adventures I need to make sure the 4 wheel drive is gonna actually kick on and a snow shovel, but last night will go a long ways to make me think twice about even going back out in the middle of nowhere, even with just 3 inches of snow on the ground. Now I guess I see why these little country schools delay and cancel school with so little snow, I guess they just dont have the money and manpower to keep the county roads cleared off out here.
