Well, I did 11 months and 2 days (according to my DD214, seemed like an eternity) there, and the average Achmed or Mahmoud in Iraq is pretty much just like us. They are afflicted with the same vermin we are here though: politicians in particular, with the normal distribution of criminals, lazy asses, and wackos (how's that for a PC term?). There is one interesting cultural difference: Iraqi men cannot get married until they can prove to the potential bride's father that they can support her financially, regardless of whether the potential bride will be his first or fourth wife.
