Unlike you, I am not currently in the business of selling my services. (Well yes, but not in the adult industry) I just like to share my knowledge to the community which happens to be code...
Then again, if I do code a "free tool", it is also with the intent of using it myself and therefore it is factored in the design. If somebody has a nice idea, I see no harm in implementing it.
