However, the code is a little buggy and has had security issues crop up from time to time. If you don't mind tinkering, it is probably one of the more popular social networking codebases and has a number of addons. Out of the box, it is not a bad solution. Just keep up with their site with their security releases, don't customize it too much (use their addon/plugin api) and you should be ok.
