Does the amount even matter? At what dollar amount is a popular athlete allowed to beat another person?

Reading the article, the cab driver's own attorney is the one saying that the ordeal has been blown out of proportion. And Paul Cambria (whom we all know and love), Kane's high-priced attorney, stated that Kane will be exonerated. So I'm guessing that Kane may not have involved in the physical assault, and that his cousin is the real douche bag. This is the one thing we do know: Cambria's suit costs more than the cab the crime took place in.
