I like vbulletin (this one, for those who don't know) but don't want to have to pay for each "instance" of it that I decide to use on a single domain. I'm splitting a domain into 3 separate areas, requiring 3 forums on same domain, and see no reason to pay $160 3 times for the privaledge.

Are there any decent alternatives? Or will I have to bite the bullet?

p.s While I'm "almost ranting" where do people get off charging several times for the SAME script running on the SAME domain. Is this bizarre, or just me missing some fucking thing??
Sometimes the best way is to bite the bullet and pay for what you already are familiar with and know works. vbulletin V3 looks pretty cool.

You can easily import all your users/messages (as you want) across the 3 areas.

You'll already know the admin end. You'll know where to go for support and what to expect.

If you get something else you'll need to start from scratch, check to see if you can import the Vbulletin messages (if you want) and consider any mods you have for the board.

It is always good to have options though which is why you posted here.

Good luck with whatever you pick!
