I typically weigh myself every 14 years or so. I only weighed myself when I started riding as Strava uses it to calculate wattage and effort. When I noticed I needed to buy new shorts, I weighed myself again.
I think you need a BMI scale to really gauge things. Muscle is twice as heavy as fat (I think), and muscle burns more calories. Virgohippy and I were talking about that a bit over the last few days. All I know is, I made no real changes except riding and I try to ride (vigorously according to the chart) an hour or two every day.
