Backups really help as Bill pointed out. Have all purchased content in two places and main system backed up in another.
When my current laptop started to act up a little I purchased another. From here on out I will always have at least two machines with one sitting on my desk and the other in the living room. Thinking about buying one of those little chrome netbooks for traveling since I am one those that does not think highly of the ipad.
