Good morning world
I was up early here too but no Net problems with Comcast fortunately. Started working with my first mug of coffee and CNN in the background but then a reminder popped up telling me that
"The Union" was about to start on HBO. It's a Cameron Crowe documentary about the reunion of Elton John and Leon Russel to record an album (after almost 40 years since they played together).
So I switched over to watch thinking I'd keep working with it in the background. As it turns out I got almost nothing done. I've been a big
Leon Russel fan since before the Joe Cocker / Mad Dogs and Englishmen and the Concert For Bangladesh days. Seeing him at nearly 70 years old still able to write, arrange and play the way he does was a real treat. Actually had a tear in my eye more than once.
I know a lot of the younger board members wouldn't have ever had a chance to see him live back in the 70s/80s, but if you search for his name on
YouTube you can definitely find some examples of his signature piano playing and easily identifiable voice. Here's one to get you started...
Wishing a great day to all.
