Curious about that - have 2 domains that has been hit on the beginning (those couple of months ago) yet changing update rates and diversifying links helped a bit, i'm back on track to top

In the same time I see a lot of domains having the keywords in, very low amount of backlinks and they hit top 10.... weird stuff!
will do a next bunch of free sites with totally different links and will see how this works

You probably (like most of us) have a lot of links pointing to your site that use the words in your domain's URL as the anchor text. If that's the case you'll definitely want to dilute that to make your link profile seem more natural to The Big G.
