Up to a few years ago I would probably have known all the shows in a list like that, and seen at least one episode of most of them. But nowadays so many British TV channels show a hell of a lot fewer American shows, and this despite the fact that we now have about ten times as many free TV channels as we used to have, plus hundreds of pay and satellite channels available!
I am wondering if this is caused by US TV producers putting the price of their shows up, so that it is no longer economically viable to buy all but the most popular, or if US TV shows are simply not as good as they were a few years back, so that most are not worth buying?
