Good Day
This morning started with an email that pissed me off. A program affiliate manager sent me an email telling me that over the past 6 months I had made very few sales (like I didn't know) and that if there is anything they can do to help. That part is fine by me.
Here is the part that pissed me off:
"If I do not hear back from you, I will try to contact you again – after that, we’ll assume you’re no longer interested in promoting and will close your affiliate account with us. You can re-open it in the future if you chose to start promotion again."
My response:
"I normally do not contact affiliate administrators but I am surprised to hear that if I did not contact you my account would be closed. Since you brought up poor sales in 6 months then I am sure you can see the amount of traffic I've sent but lets take a look together:
2013 - I sent 240,000 raw/165,000 unique hits to the program or 1:30,000/1:20,000 ratio.
2012 - I sent 181,000 raw/138,000 unique hits to the program or 1:8,600/1:6,500 ratio.
2011 - I sent 250,000 raw/190,000 unique hits to the program or 1:6,400/1:4,800 ratio.
So in 2013 I increased promotion/traffic sent to 2011 levels to see if ratios would improve only for ratios to be 3 times worse then 2012 and 4.5 times worse then 2011, yet you assume I am no longer interested in promoting, that's a bit frustrating to say the least.
How much traffic does one have to send to make you think I am not promoting?" end of response
Sure, I am no traffic whale but WTF
btw, this is a ccbill program with 2 sites under it during these years.
Thank You for letting me vent.
The only nice thing is I hadn't paid attention to how bad those numbers had really become. Guess I really need to start looking at stats compared year by year for a number of these programs that make a few bucks but are not real money earners and move some of that traffic.
