Well I got fat after I moved here... The damn beer is so much heavier!

I love it here, really. Plenty of stuff to do. Amsterdam is a big city that operates much like a small town. Shops are smaller and have a neighborhood feel. So when you go inside, the waiter, bartender, waitress, or clerk is likely someone you see day to day. I have been going to the same pub for the 3 years I have lived here and when they see me locking my bike out front, the beer is on the bar. Oh and of course there is plenty of , but depending on what part of the US you're from, I guess that it is not much of a problem anymore.

The city is big, yet small enough to get around on foot. Best though to see the city by bike. Any local will tell you that. Just get a "red" one and this lets the locals know you are slow and probably not paying attention.

There is plenty of fat people here too! It's just not as bad and they are likely from Germany.
