what are some of the main advantages to using something like
Blogger.com as opposed to just doing html pages on your
domain name and maybe setting up the file path like:
(note these are non- existent url's used merely as an example here)

I know there must be advantages to using the actual
blogging services or software - they are becoming
so popular nowadays...
