i put the a link to them in my ref code out of gratitude. and because i think they are a good affordable host that really appreciates their customers.
what happened is i had 1 host that i was VERY unhappy with. i decided to leave them about 1 week before my pay period ended. so i shopped around and found another host. i put in my order and got a bill in my email saying "server set up and ready within 48 hours of payment recieved" or something like that. i paid for my new dedicated server and got a reciept in my email a couple minutes later that said thanks - your order will be ready within 48 hours. so i contacted my other host and cancelled my hosting with them. a few days went by and no contact from my new hosting company so i sent them an email. they replied that they never recieved payment confirmation. so i sent them my payment confirmation email with the payment code and everything. a few days went by and still nothing. to shorten this a bit i had to hurry up and get a virtual host and move all my sites to that... i had some domains that were down a whole day because of no hosting. i was pretty ticked off at that point and my new host wasnt returning my emails. i contacted ben from reality check - who i didnt know at the time and still really dont - and he had a server set up for me in 2 hours. even though i told him i couldnt pay him right away because i had paid for another host. he actually offered me the first month for free - but i didnt take it. had my dns changed and the next day i had a new server for my sites. and to top it all off he gave me 3x more data transfer and a 40 gig larger hard drive for slightly more than i would have been paying with the other host. he has always been right on it when i have a question or needed help with something. and i have not had any downtime that i know of.
i have them in my tagline out of gratitude. i would have my affiliate code in there but they dont have an affiliate program that im aware of
