Good suggestions. The med side- as opposed to atlantic - is more costly. I've decided on a week mini-vacation in October (when my kid is on half term) and we're going to look at the atlantic side as well as Nice. Monaco would be no problem (I'm sure GG would give me a 2 mil loaner) but I'd be moving to another Rome. A scoop of icecream in a cafe in rome costs equivalent 10 bucks (5 pounds). So when I take my kids for icecream, it costs 90 bucks. LOL Of course you do have McD's next to the spanish steps, so all was not lost. So anyway, leaning to the atlantic side, but will check out the prop in Nice.
