When I do picpost submissions I link to FPA's and it works out pretty well. The trick is using a good FPA. I usually take a teaser pic from 8-12 of the free content sets the sponsor provides and make kind of a gallery with large thumbs that link right to the tour. Throw in some good descriptive text and it works out pretty good. As long as you can build an FPA that'll actually make sales it can be better than a straight tour link.
I promote mostly solo girl sites so I also put thumb links to 5 or 6 other FPA's of girls on the bottom, or even some toplist links.
