Though it would not bother me if it was just going to be a personal home BUT I do know of some people that are sticklers in the cost per square foot. Your house just went from roughly 110 a sq ft to 128, if I remember purchase price correctly. That can be big issue and you may want to fight why 600 sq ft were lost. Wish you luck and that they overlook it.
Doing some work again after a 4 hour break for a nap, lunch and finally started watching the recent season of Black Mirror.
