I did the same transfers with about 50 of my WP blogs, and everything went smooth. I just re-pointed and boom, all was cool.
Thanks for the reply, I've got all the sites moved except one, it did not come without snags, snafu's and otherwise clean up work, of which I'm still checking.

Didn't do the .bak file, never researched on how to make it.
