I've dual booted with Linux and Windows for over 14 years now -- Linux 99% of the time -- but I've got other people in my life that use Windows 100%. If you don't know, Windows 11 is already here and Windows 10 ends in 4 years. Here's the thing. There's always a thing. Computers with CPUs four years or older won't run Windows 11. Not just, won't run well. MS stops you from running the OS if your CPU is not on its list (even if you meet disk, RAM and TPM 2.0 requirements)! I've got 2 Thinkpad laptops for family members made in 2018 (with 2017 CPUs) that run on a AMD, 4 core CPU at 2.7mhz that don't make the cut. I am certain they can run Windows 11.
Ten years of Windows 10. Seem to be running fine for most people. It's almost like they're in cahoots with computer manufacturers to churn product and sell more Windows licenses. Fuck Microsoft.
