Question Links SQL

I'm still looking for a link list script to replace Link Organizer which is what I'm using now.

Links SQL looks pretty decent. I downloaded and played around with a bit the non SQL version and it looks like I could get it to do what I want.

I looked around on their board but couldn't find info on importing my existing database. Does anyone know if it is possible to import my database from Link Organizer?

Also any comments on Links SQL good or bad would be much appreciated.

Cleo,

Though there are some similarities, the differences between the non-SQL and SQL version is huge..

Do they have a demo version up somewhere?

I believe that LSQL is the most flexible of all the scripts out there.. and if you can run a template based script/site... then it is THE script.

They only have a demo of the links that uses a flat file which I did install to play with.

In the templates I was able to remove the opening and closing head and body tags which means that I can just pull in the links to my ssi and php pages. This is what I'm doing with my existing links script and is also what I did with AutoGallery SQL.

I see lots of plugins for it which I loved. Seems to be well supported too.

Is there any kind of automatic bot for it?

I actually decide to take a serious look at it after surfing your site DD.

Looks like once I remove the opening and closing tags in its templates I can pull in the links and keep Cleo's Links looking just the way it is now.

My database now is a flat file with the pipe symbol separating each field. Actually it has two databases that are suppose to be the same but aren't. The other database is actually a collection of txt files that are just regular html tags. It is a fucking mess with some links that shouldn't be in one and links missing that should be there. Ideally I would want to import the links from both and then remove the duplicates.

The support forums are a big PLUS... and you can usually get an answer to (even dumb) questions.. quickly and usually in a friendly manner.

In-built "linkbot" (see image)

Almost all of dangerdave.com.au is built from within LSQL, plus a few add-on pages..

I am sure there will be import tools... though there might be some difficulties...

There is an import tool built in to import for prev. versions of Links2.0 - so you may be able to adjust you DB and get it imported..

A real link bot

It is looking like the way to go. I just want to be sure before plucking down my hard earned money and time.

I really like what you have down with your list. I especially like the way your detailed results pages show up in SERPs.

Importing the database can be done. I've done this type of thing before. Checking for dups adds a little extra work, but its doable.

If your interested in contracting it out I'm available.
