Greenie..the Sabres game
Hey there Greenie, was just wondering of you were at the game with the sakte accident....Zednick is in stable condition but from the coverage Ive seen it looked pretty intense for a while. Suprised it hasnt happened more over the years.

Jester I remember back in '89 when Steve Tuttle's (Blues defenseman) skate slammed into the sabres goalie throat. It also happened with blues goalie Cujo (across the face not the throat-but close) Hey, it happens from time to time. But last nights incident looked really bad. I only caught it on the highlight reel but thats a testament to how tough those guys are. I probably would of bled to death.

Yes, I was there - from LOR:
I was at the game last night when Zednik's throat was sliced by Jokinen's skate & it was really creepy. It happened on my side of the ice, but I was watching the play (much like the main camera view) and when I realized something was wrong, Zednik was at the blue line rushing towards his bench with a massive trail of blood behind him on the ice. They said it nearly severed his courotted (sp) artery..if that had happened it may have bene a different ending as they would have had to "fish" the ends out to reconnect them..all total he lost 5 units of blood. GODDAMN!

Yeah - I heard the Dr talk about having to "fish" it out - crazy.
They upgraded him from "stable" to "good" today & tomorrow they hope to have him out of the ICU  (on a side note, is it to soon to say that I almost picked him up in my Fantasy Hockey league on Sunday morning?  ) |

UPDATE: Zednick was released from Buffalo General Hospital today (Friday) and is said to be back in Florida recovering. God news for him and his family for sure.

Thats nice of them. Im trying to think of the place that my buddy gets his stuff from..he's in east aurora and last time I was there we had pizza and wings..but for the life of me I cannot think of the name of the place. Doesnt matter. Im just glad to see Zednick is out of the hospital and hopefully on his way to recovery.

I know that everyone says great stuff about Anchor Bar & they claim to be the home of Buffalo Wings, but I don't really like their wings. There's numerous little places around WNY that have good wings - Ricotta's is the place we order from the most because they are right down the street, but I love Bella's wings & Blasdell Pizza is pretty good.
But the best wings I've ever had come from a little diner in Lackawanna called Victoria Square...but I probably only think that because we went there every night after drinking & order a "wall of wings" |

haha Nice...yeah there are plenty of wing joints here..specifically for wings..WIng Zone and Planet Wings..both franchises. But the best ones come from little pizzarias or local bars.
