Epoch vs CCBill

I have recently switched to Epoch after years of using CCBill for my main billing. I love CCBill's reliability and they were always good to me but their affiliate setup just sucks ass so bad. I was at a friends house recently who uses a Linksys router and when I clicked my own affiliate link it gave me a 404 because of their redirect which really sucks since I know there are a shitload of those routers out there!

Since the switch I have to say I'm much happier with the Epoch affiliate setup and their support for me has been very good.

The one thing I hate is that there is no option to randomly assign usernames and passwords which CCBill does, and due to surfers choosing the easiest words in the world to hack I've had to go and get PhantomFrog because I was having serious abuse issues.

Anyway, I guess the point is I wanted to hear back from those of you who have made this same switch and what your thoughts are on their new program, not the old one. The MPA3 isn't as good as MPA3 but its years ahead of that mess CCBill has for affiliate software. When they fix it I'll moe than likely go back to them, but as of now Epoch has been good to me and my sales went up, and my international sales have more than quadroupled. I still use ccbill in the cascade but have yet to have it convert yet ccbill to epoch has converted several which tells me CCBill scrubs much harder.

Personaly I've been slowly adding CCBill sponsors because I'm tired of having money I've earned sitting in a sponsors bank account while I slowly make the $100 minimum payout

Mariah I know its not going to help much, but that LinkSys router did and cannot block a link unless it is intentionally configured to do so. I've installed more of them that I'd like to count.

All I know is that my sales have gone up and I have yet to get a chargeback. When the sales go the other way I'll have to start looking seriously at going to NATS or MPA3 because CCBill's shit just is too out dated.

I've never seen any issues with CCBill and routers.

One of the things really missing from Epoch's new link codes (besides keeping their old codes working) is the ability to add a variable to change the landing page on the fly.

no I dont and im not embarrassed to say I dont even know what they are! lol I've never looked into it and I've pretty much stuck to galleries and updates and member inter-action but plan to widen my vision this coming month. I've been shooting non stop this year and plan to take a break to focus on my site and get up to date with things like RSS Feeds

yes Cleo I agree & you're only allowed 1 tour per site which really sucks since I have spent a ton of time making several tours. SO now I have to make the alternate tours into totally seperate domains and go through the entire approval process and visa approval process which altogether takes weeks.
That aspect sucks for sure.

I realize the links still work, but if your focus and priority is on updating and maintaining your Epoch sites and tours, then I don't see much future in promoting a stagnant CCBill tour that, to be honest, is already a navigation nightmare.

I just had a sponsor switch from ccbill to epoch and it pissed me off

Except for 1 sponsor every other one that has switched from ccbill to something else has meant my ratios went into the shitter and I make less money. Funny thing, owners always say their ratios are better and they are making more money so it makes me wonder

This will be the first epoch change so I am hoping it will be better than the others.

Epoch not offering variables on their link codes and also saying that old affiliates would not get credit for sales on their new system was the reason that Epoch was removed from FA.

Either one would have been a deal breaker but their new system screwing old affiliates was absolutely incomprehensible to me.

Ok so with ccbill now cascading with epoch and the fantastic CCBTools available, that seems pretty good setup...i dunno what Mariah means about ccbill being "out of date"

That being said, as I stated in the other Epoch thread their stats are not accurate. I have seen affiliate commissions mysteriously screw up, sales with no commissions even to the default account and I know that their clicks are not tracking correctly. Yet I've never had a satisfactory reply on any of the support tickets I've issued. |confused|

well ccbill has no tools for webmasters. if you want good tools you have to build a php program yourself

their affiliate program offers very little for affiliates after they signup other than link codes.

you cant tell me that ccbill has comprehensive tools for affiliates can you?

And Toby, it might be a navigation nightmare but my mariahxxx.net converted tour traffic at 1 in 387 in may so someone is liking it!

What tools do you want from a biller? I'm signed up to a couple of Epoch sponsors. Mind telling me where the tools are? Tools are the sponsors responsibility - not the biller's.

Want to know what an affiliate wants from a biller? Checks. Period.

CCBill always pays, they don't overreach their responsibilities as a biller by adding unnecessary bells and whistles, and when someone has an issue with them on the boards - CCBill responds. Epoch does not.

If it converted that well with CCBill then I don't understand the comments re: CCBill being out of date.

Take off your site owner hat for a minute and put on an affiliate hat. All the jumps to different domains is a logistical mess, and on more than one occassion the CCBill affiliate code gets dropped in the jump.

From an affiliate perspective a clean, up to date, single domain tour is far more important than CCBill vs Epoch, although for independent sites I personally prefer to promote CCBill sites.

But.... you didn't really come here looking for advice. Your replies in this thread show that your mind was already made up before you posted the question and it was really more of an announcement.
