free site designs

Is it good or bad in your opinion to design the free site to look similar to the sponsor's tour page? (colors, text, links, etc.)

Well it was recommended couple of times here to do so , of course if its not a blatant copy - Im doing it from time to time....
but when i do like 6-7 sites promoting lets say chicks go bothways i cant do every in the same color tonation... i usually stick to one...

Sickkittens, I dig your freesite designs. They are clean and attractive as well.

To answer your question; I think it helps to keep the surfers mind were he/she is going when they click to your sponsor. Everything looks familiar if your site looks like the tour and surfers are less likely to think they are being led somewhere else. does that make sense?

Makes complete sense. And thanks for the comments.

The reason why I asked was because I was trying to get in the mind of a surfer. Some may click the sponsor link and then it's almost like starting over again because they still need to click another link to take the tour.

Whereas if the person clicks a sponsor link on a free site that doesnt look like the free site, they may get more interested because everything looks new. On the negative, they may feel like they got forced into a site that didn't have much to do w/ where they came from. (If any of that made sense)
