Mainstream sponsors are so clueless

Not all of them but in my experience so far most of them just don't get the web.

My latest dealing WTF moment has been with Kayalu. No one down here sells them and as a user of their products I get asked all the time about their lights and camera mount that I use.

So really liking their products I applied for reseller account with them. A few hours later I get a call from the owner asking me if I have a physical store. I tell them no and that pretty much all the kayak shops down here have gone out of business due to the web.

He tells me that since they already have a website (one that no one seems to know about) he can't approve me as I only sell online.

I tried to explain that kayakers go to my blog since I'm a member of a bunch of Meetup groups and people ask where they can buy the stuff I use but he just doesn't get it.

Guess this is why most of the kakakers that we know have the suction cup lights that fall off their kayaks and work like crap.

At least NRS gets it and I now have started selling the kayaking hats that everyone asks us about.
