Eighteen 'til I Die

Employees of sponsor submitting?
We have two prinicipals and two employees and we all are thinking about starting to submit.
In lieu of all the hosted stuff that we are putting out, I can see where some LL and TGP owners might have a protential problem with this. So here I am asking for your advice. Thus far the ground rules I have established are: 1. Each employee will have their on domain. Of course it will be on my server. 2. They will use their own email addy (nikki@domain.com) 3. The content will be our licensed content. 4. They will not submit to anyone using our hosted sites and/or galleries. 5. They CAN NOT submit a duplicate of our hosted sites and/or galleries. 6. They can submit from the office since they only have dailup available in the area they live. BUT I see a problem here because of the IP address being duplicated. Would it be acceptable for them to give up a banner/link and place a '$$Webmasters$$ ' link to Chop's Cash? |

I would say that if they are not getting paid by the sale or commission, but in fact are getting paid by the hour to build sites and submit them, then I would decline those sites. It would be no different from hiring a company in India and having each of their employees build a site each day for you. They get paid 25 cents per site, and you take all the sales.
Findpics rules: "one submission per webmaster or webmaster group per day. No submit bots, submit assistance, or paid submit services are permitted" Alex |

Thanks Alex.
I am aware of that rule and that was the one that concerned me the most. But I am not going to pay them to sit here and submit. They were going to have to sign up as an affiliate, pay for their domain, and their bw usage. I thought it was a bad ideal from the beginning. I had lot rather have you and others listing the hosted stuff. So #6 is changed - They will not be allowed to submit from the office. |

I build my own sponsor free sites/galleries.
This would be an auto decline, and a quick black listing for all domains and sponsor.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think NOT!

I personally cant see that its a problem apart from the same IP issue, which you seem to have dealt with.

For instance, if I built a paysite I would want to buy listings and submit them myself. It gives me a better chance of getting traffic from your site and more control. I would also submit to the free listings. With the new 2257 laws coming out it might be that sponsor content will dry up, as it seems ludicrous that I sell content and documents to a sponsor who then distributes it to every webmaster on his list. But like most I'm still trying to work out the new 2257 regulations. |

However, I think that you are going to see the number of hosted free sites increase big time. IMO, that should benefit the Link List owners. |

NO! Im not a female - but being a dragon, I do eat them.

Chop - I dont want to get to deep into what certain scripts can do but I think you will find that most LLs would auto ban based on the domains all being on the same server and having very similar IPs and whois - this is how two other sponsors that I know of got banned at a lot of the major LLs. Of course private deals can be made also

Surely someone submitting his own TGP pages for his own site is going to be a bit more reliable than an affiliate or am I missing something? |

Paul, the problem is that people always take it too far. I have certain groups of webmasters from a certain country who build new paysites, and then they each go around submitting sites to allt he link sites. They will open a new site I will get 50 or 100 submissions on the same topic in a matter of 2 or 3 days. All with near indentical IPs on the submit, and the domains are almost always on the same server(s) as the paysite. Further, the ocntent of the paysites is often margin KP.
What would stop a maxcash from settting up 200 domains, making 200 sites each day, and submitting them to the major lists? Nothing except a few dollars. We provide links, not free money, and we want to link to the most diverse material possible from the widest number of webmasters possible. Variety is what keeps your surfers coming back. Alex |

I see your point Alex, so if I do a site that has only one address can I come talk to you?

Thanks for the input from all of you. As I had thought, it was a bad ideal and it will not happen.

Chop -
This doesn't mean that LL owners won't sign up for your program and simply build the sites themselves ![]() (which of course we all get paid for)
