Use G Toolbar - well here is a word of warning!
If you use the G toolbar and visit PRIVATE pages on your site (ie admin pages or notes pages) that you do not want anybody to know exists then do not be surprised when you find them indexed in G!!
I just had this experience while developing atpornhub.com - I put my draft admin php pages online before bothering to password protect them. I have only ever typed the addresses in on the browser never clicked any links (and there are none to these two pages) but if you look at http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site%3Aatpornhub.com you will see that registerq (my page for processing registrations) and linkq (ditto for links) are on there! So now I quickly added a primitive password system to stop myself being hacked. Incidentally though the site is not quite kosher yet the links database is fine - so you can register and add links at my Porn directory if you want - It gives you the chance to enter a huge description with html - (no scripts or iframes but links, off site hosted images and banners are fine).

Rather than using your primitive password system for your admin pages, you could use .htaccess to block all IPs except your own.

you might also consider modifying robots.txt file to tell all search engines to ignore portions of your sites like admin areas, etc.
