Good Day To All
Nice weekend with cooler temps which allowed more work on the house before lots of tv watching and the grandson coming over which I had not seen in a month. Unfortunately it's suppose to get into the 90's later this week and we have no AC. We put off fixing/replacing until the rest of the house was put in order figuring that winter is coming so why spend a couple thousand now. Well, back to work. |

Visited a friend today. He had the plumber round this morning. He often has the plumber round because:
(a) He insists on pouring hot cooking fat down the sink. (b)He keeps the dining room door open 24/7 so the dog can go outside to poop, which means he has to have the heating on pretty much 24/7 from early Fall to late Spring and it cannot take that punishment. (c) He and his partner have a complete change of clothes three times a day, and will only use a towel once (wash their hands, dry them on a clean towel, put the towel in the washing bin), so the washing machine is on from 9am (when his housekeeper arrives) to 6/7pm every day. The system is not designed to take that level of punishment. So stuff tends to gunk up, rattle loose, or just stop working. And his plumber is called in several times a year. Before I arrived, my friend mentioned his 85 year old father in conversation with the plumber. The plumber replied "Oh, is he the guy with the beard who I see around here occasionally?" He meant me!! Me - 85 - me !!! I'm no spring chicken, but 85 ??????? To make matters worse, when I left my friend yelled after me "Goodbye Dad!" Because come spring everyone will want their AC sorting. The electrician will make you wait a month before he can get round to you. Then he will charge you double because at that time of year, he can. |

This is true but we hope to have the house rearranged by end of the year. Then we will have the ac people out after the holidays but long before spring even hits....I hope.
