Titles

Hi,
Seen this one mentioned a coupla times now,
when building a free site I use a different Title, although in the same theme, for every page for SE purposes. The index page gets the title I submit with, the others vary slightly. I've seen posts saying this is wrong and will cause a decline, I'm curious as to why?

Are you talking title tag or title on the page?

Some variations (but not MAJOR variations) are okay. But remember, when you submit a site, it must all be "one site" - I (and many other sites) will decline you if your pages are not a matching set. That includes colors, general layout, theme, etc, and major differences in the title tag could change things a bit.

You will almost certainly get declined if the visible title on the page (H1 type text with the name as you submitted to the link lists) does not appear on the pages and if it is different on the pages.

Hi Raw Alex,
Yep, I keep it all the same, but I do change the title in the <h1> tag and the meta tag for each page.
Here's an example:

All slightly different, but in the same theme. Would you decline for the titles there?

The title on the index page is the title I use to submit.

That's not too bad, but I think you might ba able to achieve the same goal by using just one title for all the pages & then a small sentance with other "keywords" in it under the title in a smaller font.

Just a suggestion - for the most part, I don't mind sites set up the way you have them
