I'm shocked, he was still young no?

May he rest in peace.

I remember seeing that first superman movie, I must have been 12 at the time and I loved it.

Jesus, I'm shocked.

He was one of my childhood idols. His equestrian accident was such a massive tragedy because he was an athlete as much as an actor. The world really is upside down.

RIP Superman.

He certainly put up a valiant fight and paved the way for new research and hope for other disabled people.

What a good woman his wife was to stand by him through better and worse. She took her vows seriously.

RIP, Superdude.

He was a good actor.. but he was a GREAT humanitarian!! His accident and subsiquient foundation brought to the forefront and into the media spotlight for those who suffer from spinal cord injury. His support of stem cell research, not only for victims of his type of injury but for other complication of the nervous system like Parkinson's etc, has given new hope to those who suffer.

His role as Superman, in my opinion, didn't start until he was wheelchair bound.

and today he is running and jumping and leaping through those meadows on his way to his next life...

His presence will be missed in this one.

I'm not sure that I would have wanted to keep on living being just a head.

Sad that he never realized his dream of walking again.

Hopefully his work was not in vain and our government will see more value in the living person then a dish of cells and move forward with stem cell research.

Rip Superman you fought a good fight and made your mark.
If not for pure luck I would have spent the last 22 years in a puff and suck wheel chair with tongue turn like Christopher Reeves
I broke my neck in the same place, my break was much worse than his, shattered the fourth vertebrae and split the fifth vertebrae in half.
The Doctors had to remove six pieces of the shattered vertebrae that were embedded in my spinal cord.Damaged spinal cord nerves regenerate at the rate of an inch a month
It took over four years for me to feel the sand between my toes and to fully assess what wasn't coming back.
I spent five and a half months in the hospital checked myself out against doctors orders spent four months trying to function outside the hospital with a paralyzed left side, no feelings from my tits down and my five year old son as my nurse
Checked myself back in to the hospital for another four months of physical therapy and again checked myself out against doctors orders.
Rented an apartment for my son and myself four blocks from Venice Beach and my physical therapy became chasing a kid on a boogie board, digging holes and walking in the sand.
The leg brace eventually went and I got my left arm back missing a few muscles, still have patches all over my right side with no feeling but no biggie when you consider what might have been.
Stem cells can and will help many people in the same boat I was in if the research is allowed to go forward.
As a side note I haven't felt the right cheek of my ass or the right side of my dick in over twenty years and I can tell ya size doesn't make a lick of difference to a man

Mr. Reeve, was an inspiration to many, and a hero to me to keep on fighting the good fight, just like Michael J. Fox.

I will miss Mr Reeve, Rest in peace... you were a Super man to many.
