1 week and ready to go
Only been back for less than a week.
I'm already to go back to silence. Nothing seems to have changed, nothing has progressed, and I can still get into this biz for under 50.00. It may be me, but after running a 2.5M budget for 5 years, the fifty buck threshold should have been taken care of years ago by biz basics. It should be hundreds if not thousands by now. Actually, I have had enough... back into the shadows for me.

Not totally true. Yes you can get in this biz for $50 but you won't get as far as you could have a year ago. Link Lists are getting more picky. TGPs are near impossible to get lsited if you do not have references or you buy spots. Don't Go!!!! |

Mind passing that budget over here?
Sure, a newbie can get into the biz for pennies, but what does that mean? They have hosting and domain name. So what? The learning curve is a bitch and it is progressively becoming more difficult to function with newbie skills, or lack there of. Three years ago, the very first TGP gallery I ever built was listed by the Hun (and failed miserably). Today, a brand new TGP wouldn't considering touching that slop, unless they have a 'look what this dumb fuck submitted' category. Look at the new rules for link lists in just recent months. No counters. No vid caps. No cheap TLDs. Shower and shave your genitalia before submitting. Just as the thread in the business forum stated, this industry is maturing and evolving. But that doesn't mean the cost is going to go up. That's all supply and demand.

Ya know, most of us really shouldn't talk - hell, my initial investment in this was the computer I bought & a shitload of time.
But, there's a lot of research that you need to do if you're going to get started today - you can't just throw money at a lot of the things that we do & see a profit. Hard work & a lot of time & effort is still the #1 investment ![]() |

Personally I'm pretty happy with the living I'm making off of this dirty business.
I do spend very long days at it many days but being able to decide if I want to get dressed before or after work is a real plus. Right now I'm trying to decide what to do with my last few computer clients, some of who I've become personal friends with, who still call me. I no longer need the income from them and mostly just find them annoying. I love this biz and my only fear is ever having to go back to any of my past occupations. |

The time and learning is the major investment, hell I spent a month reading stuff from serps on how to start a porn site, another month fooling around with free trial web editors..
A week talking to my isps webhosting to get the details on putting a page up and 2 more weeks fooling around with the hostings free little web editor and trying to make banners work then another 3 weeks learning how to use the webeditor I bought and then join max cash and spent another few weeks reading on how to make a free site - LOL the first banner I tryed to get to work was a flash banner - LOL So Yes you can start with 50.00 if you look around and dont pay 150.00 for a webeditor and doing notepad being a newbie is hard.. I made decent money at my job before porn so if I needed it I would buy it. and spend every night leaning and figureing out how to do something and then put up my first basic site and this was all before I started coming here to get help infact I didnt come here till after I didnt see my first site listed on link o rama and then another week lurking the board and reading other peoples troubles getting a site listed and remember reading a post with cleo and almost scared me away.. So yes if your smart and know were all the free tools are and research a hosting package and a editor has ftp, 50.00 will get you going maybe 30.00 if you use sponsor stuff - most newbies dont know where and if you can buy content.. and I started a year and 3 or 4 months ago.. So if you started now with 50.00 you would be stuck on block 1 for a very long time.. and even if you get lucky to be liked on a board and get to know the LL people, look how long can go by before you see a sale.. Its mindboggling to break into this biz and I do it full time and still progress is slow and if you started today you better be one smart and lucky dude.. |

It just seems too me that alot of folks basically feel like newbies shouldn't be in the biz.
That its too crowded and too cheap to get started in now ,well DUH its a business. I just don't get it when people say newbies this and newbies that how can you blame them. Atleast alot are willing to learn it the right way if there is one.Theres always room for more imho. Ya keep hearing about how tgp's and LL's are closin the doors to everybody to many cheaters etc etc ITS THE WEB get over it get use to it and work harder,it might take ya longer but you'll make it sooner or later. If I'm willing to put in the time and do the work who cares if it only cost 50.00 to get started. I am lucky I've been on this damn web working for 5 yrs now.I make good bank from the sites I work for and have money to play with. I'm going at it slow and steady on my own and ya know what I just might make it someday ![]() |

dareutwo "Nothing seems to have changed, nothing has progressed, and I can still get into this biz for under 50.00."
Useless Warrior "Sure, a newbie can get into the biz for pennies, but what does that mean? They have hosting and domain name. So what? Greenguy "But, there's a lot of research that you need to do if you're going to get started today - you can't just throw money at a lot of the things that we do & see a profit." Time is Money I just looked I registered Tiajuanawhores.com June 6th 2003, that's the day I got into the Biz not knowing sqwat or where to get advice I've made allot of mistakes (still make mistakes on a fairly consistant basis), been ripped off and pissed off several times and have learned a bunch The learning curve in this biz is intense and you get conflicting advice everywhere you turn. I made the decision as a supper newbie to make GreenGuyandJim my one and only webmaster forum to cut down on bad advice and knowing that BullShit is called when bad advice is given (guess you could say I'm a product of GreenGuyandJim and On The Bench with MML) it was close to a year before I joined any other boards. A quality forum is a must for anyone in the biz I use the search functions allot and the advice is priceless the problem as a newbie is you need to know what questions to ask (learning the vocabulary and terms is worse than memorizing the human anatomy) I'm 50 years old and am amazed that I jumped into this biz with zero research and zero business plan (sound familiar) That's why I'm so excited about the new product I'm promoting it cuts the learning curve way down and get's the newbies started off right with a game plan

I started in this buisness just 1 year ago and it is a been big learning curve. I hadn't built a website in my life till then. But to get anything out of this, you have to put something in. By this I mean work! Nothing comes for free. And the few sales I have had has shown me that a reasonoble living can be had from this buisness if you are prepared to put the work in.
Porn has been around for years, and in my day the only way you bought porn was from seedy backstreet sellers, or from the top shelf of your news agent. So now it's less embarrsing and easy for people to buy porn. So what am I saying here? I am saying that the internet is still very young and that money can be made from porn only by hard work |
