Niche Link List?

Is the object of a niche link list to have one niche general site with all the content being of that niche or is it to have multi sub categories in that niche to bring smaller niche targeted traffic to it?

Do niche link list work as well as niche TGPs? I ask this because when I look at some of the niche keyword terms I see alot of tgps and general link list niche category listing but no full on niche link list. It might be just for the niches im looking at but it seems like that all around. I hardly see any full niche link list that are doing well in the serps.

Are niche link list worth trying or would you do better with a niche tgp ? I would think it would be easier to start up a niche tgp then a niche link list do to more submits starting off. But as always link list get better traffic so im a little stuck at the moment in my decision making.

Any insight on this topic would be appreciated.

You could do something similar to tommys-bookmarks. He lists free sites and galleries together.

I've never had a niche TGP or LL, but from what I've heard the biggest issue is getting submits.

Niche lists always face the one issue: Getting enough variety of listings to make it worth people coming to your site. If you are only getting listings that promote one or two sites, you end up with a very dull list filled with less than entertaining material.

You also have to find ways to make it worth submitting a site to your niche list. That more than likely would mean getting some traffic to your niche list, and probably getting decent PR on all your pages.

It isn't the easier job in the world.
