Angry Counter Problem - Advice Required

Have used Sex Tracker for some time, and XXX Counter more recently. For the second time in three months one site has been "hit" by a latched forced pop-up. On both occasions removing both of these counters has solved the problem. Of course, that leaves me blind as far as traffic goes.

Anyone else had these problems? And has anyone got a reasonable freebie alternative they can let me know about?

BTW: Is this board really gluey today, or is that possibly something to do with this f****n' problem which has fed my box with something nasty? |skull|

I use PayCounter, not that I have any great love for it either. Personally I'm of the opinion that they all suck.

Cleo, I'm inclined to agree. It's the "free lunch" syndrome - no such thing. They get you to provide something for them one way or another.

Surfn. If the site is running fine for you, I feel a format system disk comin' on. It's getting worse.

Thanks guys

The board is running fine for me too. What is it doing wrong for you?

I always wanted to try out this software for stats
http://www.x3scripts.com/x3tracker.html?
Just not enough to spend $750 on it.

If I scroll the page it only refreshes about a third of it at a time. Multiple clicks on the side bar, and I can sit for 15-20 seconds for it to scroll down the page.

As I'm typing this I have to stop to let it catch up; The cursor is inching its way thropugh the entry one letter at a time then printing it at the end of the line after I've finished typing [???] Basically it's like running in glue - Odd!

Have already done a defrag and scan disk. Even did a full reset and reboot. No probs there. Seem to be able to go to google and do searches, etc.

This message has taken me more than 2 minutes to type

Running IE5 over Win ME.

Visited the board fairly early this morning, and it was just peachy. The trouble only started after I encountered the problem with forced pop-ups.

Yeah it sounds like something has messed with your OS.

From what I'm told, I don't use Windows myself, Windows ME is a real piece of shit. Since it sounds like your install is hosed you may install a different version of Windows. Win2K is my favorite Windows for when I do need to run Windows.

All Windows OS [and they're not really Os anyway - They're DOS based] are crappy, but Win ME is the best of a bad bunch for what I need.

I'd go back to Win 98, except it doesn't talk to IE5 without getting into a tantrum. That MicroShite for you.

Anyway. Thanks for the suggestions, encouragement, et al... |goodnight
