Angry Rant

Ok, let me start off by saying I am not a LL owner, nor have I ever owned a LL, nor have I ever helped to review or moderate any LL whatsoever. I have gotten a pretty good idea of what it must be like through the different postings here on this board i.e. cheaters,C.P.,multisubmitters and the what not.
I can certinly understand how time consuming a LL can be. That being said I have to say something that has been bothering me for awhile. I have been watching my stats for the last several weeks and have been submitting to about 120 LL as well. I have noticed that probably about 30 possibly even 40 or so of these LL arent listing my sites or anyone else's but yet they continue to accept submissions and have thier recips plastered all over the net.
Now, I understand that sometimes LL get backlogged and their are delays and such, I am not complaining about those places. I am not here to call anyone out or start any fights but jesus christ if your gonna run a fuckin' LL then run a fuckin' LL and dont just let it sit their. I have emailed webmasters with no reply, waited for LL to update and I see nothing.
I got acceptance letters yesterday form a site I submitted in January of this year! Almost 9 mo. ago. How in the hell are you supposed to build any decent traffic if some LL owners wont operate they way they should?? I would think that if most of the bigger or well known LL can manage to update atleast weekly (Their are a few exceptions to this such as RR and the like) I would think Julio fuckheads porn pit could manage to do it also.
Its just frusterating to go back and see that for the last 6 weeks none of the sites I have submitted have been added to these places. Is it really worth my time to go back and hunt down thier recips and remove them? No, not really.
Like I said, I can see the time and effort that must go into a LL and I understand that sending accept/rejection emails would probably be pain in the ass also (thank you to the ones who do though )but if your not gonna maintain the damn thing then shut it down or atleast post it that you arent taking submissions anymore or something for fuck sakes.

What I don't get about your rant...and I swear I am not attacking you...is that if you've seen this pattern in your stats for several weeks why you have continued to submit to the places.

I don't do very many free sites, so I can't speak alot to LL's. But with galleries, I watch my stats pretty close, and if I'm not getting listed, then I cut that place out of my submit list.

I actually have a very small submit list, compared to many people. That's because I hand submit, and it bores me to tears. So I submit to the places that make it worth my while. I'm not into sitting into this chair, fucking my neck and shoulders up worse, spending my time subbing to places that aren't listing me, don't have traffic that meets my needs, etc.

In short, I hope you feel better for ranting. And then I hope you do what you can control to make things better for you.

Good ? Selena, However I didnt want to jump the gun when I didnt see a listing inside of a week or two. People have lives and other things beside porn so I didnt want to seem to quick to judge.

I hear ya Binxgook! I normally do as Selena said and weed out my submit list from time to time. I continue to submit to a few LLs that are still working on January. They used to send awesome traffic and are still decent and I'm hoping they will pick up again. And it's always good to get new sales trickling in from 6 month old sites.

it's a tough decision sometimes...some LLs that give me good traffic take 6 wks or more to get me on. So if you add a new LL to your list (and a lot of times that I do it's from board postings, so you want to give them a chance) then wait...and wait...is it that they are backed up, but once you're on you'll get some decent traffic? or are they jerking your chain?
The problem is, in 6 weeks I can submit anywhere from 15-25 sites - do I want to go back thru that & take out recips? hell no, got better things to do
do I wait & waste a good recip placement to see?
I wouldn't wait 6 mos, I'd take them off before that, but you see the point.

Plus, from a LL point of view, do I want my recip grouped with 3 or 4 others that aren't going to list the site anyway, that's not gonna do me any good.

I think it's a problem too, not a huge one cuz I do just take them off if I'm not seeing anything, I can always add back later if I was wrong...but it takes up valuable time for a submitter, that's all.

whew - I think I just had a rant too

anyway that's just my thoughts lol

Well, I can understand that, but ask yourself this.

If someone lives a life that doesn't at least revolve heavily around porn, is that the best use of your resources/time to submit to them.

It's a business. And I know some people can only do it part time. But I think...and this is just me...that the resouce of *me* is best used towards doing business with people who *treat* it like a business, even if they are part time.

Not to mention say you pull someone from your sub list, then...because you are keeping an eye on your stats...you start seeing hits from them...that's not to say if you take them off your list, you can't put them back on.

Selena - exactly!

that's why altho it's a problem, it's not a big one to me...my life does revolve heavily around porn so I delegate my resources accordingly

I do think that binxgook has a point tho...if you can't run your LL or keep it up, let others know, even if it's only temporary. I feel guilty if I let subs sit for a couple of days, never mind months

Julio Fuckhead's Porn Pit - That's genius! That might be my next site.

I'm behind you on this. Just do as Selena has suggested. Filter those lists out of your submissions. This will make your efforts more profitable and ensure that you are forming better recip tables by eliminating shit sites.

I have been getting a good many of those late approvals. I am just happy that my crap gets listed. Perhaps, I will get some late sales.

I know what you're saying...But when this month ends, I'll go in my referral stats, and those who didn't send me any traffic will be removed from my submit list...And as ponygirl said, I can add them back later if I was wrong

My only thought, though a site might take time to list you or might not send you the traffic you "require", what about the se part? For free sites, even galleries I guess, it's always been one of the side/late benifits, that later down the road all these LL's big and small could help get your pages ranked and get some SE traffic. Not sticking up for any one or makes excuses, just my two cents.

Of course not getting listed at all or many months later, that's understandable.

Good point Ronnie, it's just very frusterating trying to play by everybodys rules and find out that I could have used my time more effectively submitting to a place that actually adds new sites on a regular basis.

A differing view than I hold. I don't mess around with submitting galleries for SE. I optimize each gallery I make, and have since the first one I made.

But I don't submit galleries to places that don't meet my criteria in the hopes they will somehow help my se ranking. In my eyes, there are more effective uses of my resources to do that.

Thankfully, we can each do as we see fit.
