First sponsor content freesite - critique please

OK, so I have a bunch of domain names floating around and a bunch of sponsors who are not making me that much money from Cal Models just yet

So I figured, since I need the freesite practice, why not try one with some sponsor content, and video's that too this time, and get crucified by ye Gods... Here goes...

http://www.jism.ca/freesite/1/

The template is simple (black with red tables) but all in all, what do you think? Listable?

Hey CalModels

Nicely done...especially for a first pass

A few comments;

This is probably more of a personal thing and some lists won't have a problem with it. But, using the phrase 'so out of it' could be deemed to imply a lack of consent on the girls part. You could easily say 'having so much fun, they don't care' or something along those lines. Just something to consider...

You might want to send your exit link to something that makes you a few cents like warning pages. Or, some folks throw up a small mainstream page selling ringtones or the like. Non adult of course.

Don't be afraid to wrap a line of enticing text or two around your banners. Warm the surfer up a bit...stroke em

The very small blue links on that black background are pretty much invisible. I realize those are webmaster links...which are really not necessary on free sites. Many lists will will count those as one of your 3 sponsor links...which would give you 4 sponsor links on your main and gallery pages. I'd lose em...especially since they're so closely tucked under your banners. You're going to end up sending surfers to your sponsors affiliate program that way.

Something's wrong with the encoding on your vids...in firefox, all I get is a garbled screen.

Damn, your source code is looong...lots of white space...takes a few scrolls to get to the bottom! That's a little mini reviewer rant right there for ya...lol.

On the UP side...very clean layout. Your text is pretty good. Dont' be afraid to utilize that talent and add a bit more text...again, stroke the surfer a bit...they like foreplay

The only other issue I see is that my recip isn't on it

All in all...a very good first shot bud...ya did good!

A little tweaking...and...I'd list it!

Yeah, your videos froze up FF for me, definitely an issue there. Otherwise pretty much what MrYum said.

Lose the webmaster links, wrong place to promote them. I wouldn't bother with an exit link at all. Why encourage the surfer to leave your site? Besides, everybody knows where the back button is if they don't like what they see.

Finally, a (small) peeve of mine: Put your warning text inside a table so it doesn't stretch to the width of the monitor. Looks neater. Good job!

See, and I like it when I'm on a huge monitor to have web-sites that can dynamically expand and fill in the sides of the page so there isn't wasted space on the edged. See, you can't please everyone.

Honestly though when I was building sites I made sure to put them in a table that was 600-650 wide so I didn't have problems with the large LL's though.

Site looks clean though.

There's too much emphasis put on your warning text. Decrease the font and use less text. Too much non-keyword related text and you're also reducing your chance of ranking well on search engines.

I would just drop the exit link (I personally consider them blind links). The webmaster links need a bigger font if you're going to keep them, and remember the 3/4 max ad/page rule.

I would replace the webmaster links with links to domain root.

This site's kinda reminds me of your previous free site; be careful not to reuse the same template too often.

Thanks a lot guys.. following mods were made...

1. Warning text smaller, and now in a table so it does not scroll
2. Got rid of the exit link completely (until I can get something that may make me a few cents)
3. Got rid of the webmaster link and replaced it with more test
4. Cleaned out white spaces from the source code (Nvu seems to be doing that randomly)
5. MrYum's recip added

Halfdeck next one I do I will use a different template... I kinda like black with the red tables tho

Final review please, and then on to the submissions... maybe I'll finally make a few bucks this weekend

Oh, about the vid's I dunno... I used FF and they were fine... they opened in WM player in a seperate screen, and not within the browser... maybe thats why? I tried IE and FF and they both worked fine... could it be that its in WMV and microfucksoft's codec not working properly as a plugin to the browser?

Looks good to me, but as they say: The proof is in the subbing. |cool|

Your movies still load a page of garble and freeze up FF for me. Have no idea what it might be. They play fine in IE.

Final thought. You have 5 minutes of video on your site. Thats a lot more than you need, definitely enough for two sites.

Thanks Lemmy, yeah I know there is more video than necessary, but I figured since this is a first time thing for me with sponsor content (and second time all together ) so I wanted to err on the side of having too much rather than not enough... not like I paid for the vid's he he...

CalModels! You want to make sure that you are using the same recip category that you are going to be submitting the site to!!!

My, and most other on that page say amateur, but you submitted to my hardcore section. That will get you rejected a lot of places.

Because it fills up a link list with the same looking sites. The surfer likes variety and so do the LL owners.

Hey CalModels

Site looks good bud...nice job! And thanks for adding my recip

Ditto what Preacher said about the templates. Consensus is, if you want to submit a site every day, you're going to need 30 templates so each one gets used once a month.

Your videos are still funky though...garbled screen and tried to lock up firefox. Fortunately my system is pretty stable so I was able to get out of it. But, you are gonna need to figure out what's causing that problem. Wish I could be more help on that one, but I have no idea what would be causing the vids to do that

Just wanted to add that I cannot view the videos in FF either. Wish I could help more, but I don't know what it could be.
