It's a Christmas Tragedy

I ordered a piece of jewelry that was quite expensive from ShopNBC. Of course, being the way I am, I spent way too much money. Today it arrived...or should I say an empty box arrived. I called them and they told me it would take 2 weeks to investigate.

They told me that they have a 95% success rate with shipping. Stay away from ShopNBC.com

That sucks 95% is a horrible rate for shipments - they fuck up 5 out of every 100? Yuck.

They told me that when I said I never had a problem with Amazon and I was quite sure they sent out a few more items than shopnbc. I told them, money back in my account by end of business Monday or I was charging back.

Oh yeah...here is their investigation that takes 2 weeks. They figure out what the package should weigh and then find out what it did weigh when it was shipped.

Ohhhh....I forgot the worst part. I said just let me buy another one then and they tell me, they are out of stock.

I just don't think this is going to work out my way and I am going to have to chargeback. I mean, they are looking for the difference of 7 grams in their investigation.

Just a quick update. I received today a complaint form from shopnbc. In it it tells me to check with neighbors and family members. As if I am missing the entire package. They want me to jump through hoops to get my money back so I decide to do a Debit type of chargeback. The kind spiderman and underdog talk about on TV commercials. I think Donald did one as well.

So, I call my bank and they say that I authorized payment to them so it's between Shopnbc and me. Be careful with your debit cards. No matter what the TV commercials say, you have no protection.

I just filled out shopnbc's 12 page report and now I have to get it notorized. I also sent a report to the state's attorney general as if that will help.

The thing that gets me is when this first happened, shopnbc was very nice and seemed helpful. They told me that it usually takes 7 to 10 days but they would expidite it. Here it is, 18 days later and I received this form. I am thinking I am out the money I paid for this already overpriced bracelet. Stay away from shopnbc is the only advice I can give you.

I always wondered if something like this would work for something like that. You tell them that you operate a group of websites that receive several hundred thousand visitors a month and if they don't refund your money you'll post your experience with them in a prominent place on all your sites. If they call bullshit, then do it, and get a programmer to set up a script so surfers can email them with a single click, saying something like "give Jim his money back you wankers or I'll never shop with you again."

I'd click on something like that as long as it was easy and didn't interfere with my.....ahem.....surfing.

That really fu*ked up, if thats happen to me, Ill be total freak out, charge them a case if they wouldnt settle that and of course demand for a refund... oh my... that will be annoying!
