Morning!!

Woke up to sad news that Kirby Puckett died. I saw he'd had a stroke but i guess they needed another player in that "field of dreams". He had a great career as a center fielder for the twins. I guess in later years, AFTER retirement, his good guy image got a bit tarnished, but while he played he was pretty classy, in my opinion. His world series performance against the Braves should be standard training footage, in my opinion. RIP Puck!

3 shows today..should be wild and wooly. AND we have RAIN in Vegas.. WOOT..

have a good one..

Morning all,

I went to see a magician yesterday, this guy could do some amazing card tricks. He also appeared to be banned in every major casino in the world

Anyway, have a nice day all.

Good morning world

I'm laughing this morning at Leno's comment that he was surprised the theme song from King Kong didn't win an Oscar...the one playing when Kong is on top of the Empire State Building being attacked by the planes...

Morning
Warm and beautiful here again, this is getting kind of boring.

Never made it over to get my car serviced yesterday so going to do that today. That and going grocery shopping later today since I seem to be not only out of food but almost out of toilet paper.

Brown stuff full of caffeine is now being served.

Dana Reeve, widow of Christopher Reeve, dies at 44

Damn, the last I had heard was she was doing well and expected to recover, she and Chris has done a lot for spinal cord research as well as cancer.

Not too much here today, some more errands and finishing up some crap.

Good morning!
Its sunny and deceptively warm looking outside her in toronto so when I step out, I'm gonna dress warmly.

Just read about Dana Reeves. http://www.azcentral.com/news/articl...-Reeve-ON.html Talk about sad. The lady dies of lung cancer and she didn't even smoke. That poor child of theirs.

, enjoy your game tonight. Those Sabres are playing very well these days and are my sleeper pick to go all the way to the final. Love that third jersey too.

Have yourselves a great day.

Working working... Should be busy all day today, and then everything stops around 7pm as I go off to play Badminton for a couple of hours, and then right back to it again.

Today is one of those "fast trot" days... I am not running, but I got stuff to do

Morning all, got a sore throat and will be busy with offline projects most of this week, so my presence here will be scarce.

Have a good one.

Sorry to hear about Dana Reeve too. A really good example of true love.

Here is a link to a pretty cool way to support their foundation. Considering the current administrations view on stem cell research, private foundation grants seem to be the only way more research will be accomplished.

Good morning / afternoon all!

Started the day with a different yoga routine then I usually do, and wow did that whoop my legs, lol. Kinda like aerobic yoga, you do about 3x as many postures as normal. I'm going to get in shape, I am I AM.

Then started in on the redo of MadHatter's office. We spent the day yesterday ripping out his window, that was fun, then framing in the hole and drywalling it. I put joint compound in the cracks and let it dry. Just finished putting the first coat of "mud" and tape around the inside corners. Read on a website if you are in a hurry to use vinyl spackle, so gave that a try. Getting real tired of waiting 24 hours between layers. We have to get this all taped, textured, and painted by friday night so it is done before the new carpet goes in Saturday.

That window was an outside window, but now all it did was look into the attached storage area we are going to finish. Now it will make some nice inset shelves for his office. I'm really diggin these projects.

So while that layer is drying, I'm going to work on sites, then sand and put another layer, then work on sites, then another layer.... at least now I should only have to wait an hour between layers, according to the tub.

Sorry about Dana. A friend of mine's cousin has never smoked in his life, very health conscious, developed lung cancer about a year ago and had about 1/3rd of his lung removed. I think he was maybe 50. Very odd about how that happends.

Windy and overcast here too DocHolly, not real cold though.

Have a great day all!

RedCherry, non-smoker lung cancer is one of the things often sighted when there is a push for restrictions on smoking in public places, like restaurants or bars. There are any number of studies that suggest people forced to work in those environments, even if they are not smokers, are subject to tons of second hand smoke. It is a real issue.

I grew up with parents that both smoked, and had exs that smoke. It is a worry for me because I can tell that my wheezing isn't all from asthma. I absolutely believe 2nd hand smoke is a real issue, and they are going to find out that waitresses, bartenders, etc. have bad issues with lung cancer, even ones that don't smoke....look at Dana she sang in venues you can bet people smoked at.
