register fly sold my domains

Over the last few months registerfly has been slowly selling my domains. Once they expire and I go to renew them I get the message the renew went throught, no problem, on I go to other things. I come back a month later to check other domains and find out my sites are gone! 'due to an error' on their part. it's not renewed and they sell it to someone else. Everytime I call i get a run around, sorry we can't help it. Sorry you lost your domian due to an error i'm our part we're really sorry. bla bla bla bla. I had one domain on auto renewal, hoping that would slove the problem and they still sold it to someone else. Thanks the thier little errors I'm almost totally wiped out. 1000's of sites gone. gg dude. DON'T do bussiness with these fools/thieves.

I have a screen shot of my 'control panel'. there that shows domians registered throught 2007. domains they have sold to other people. And the I get from support is 'it was due to an error on our part' and we're very sorry. I should have tried to register it again. Of course , I didn't know i had to regiester it again, as it says it's registered though 2007!!
grrrrrrrrrrrr!

as of right now i'm dead in the water

Sorry to hear that. Sux major.

Registerfly aside, what about purchasing registration for future years ahead of time, before renewal?

I've had the same thing happening to my domains registered at Registerfly.
Getting the message the domain was renewed, seeing in the admin that it was good for another year but then all of the sudden it expires anyway.
Fortunately I always was fast enough to contact them and demanding that my domains would get renewed ASAP. I almost lost my tranny domain, my freesite domain and some other domains because of their fuck ups.
When you email them you always get a response within 4 hours... Last time I mailed them about a similar issue they told me they were having some problems with the renewal system lately. My email was about a domain I renewed 3 months earlier...

Moved most of my domains elsewhere since then.

Hehe. Not that you're making any accusations, or anything.

Sorry to hear about that Annie

Had almost the same thing happening some years ago. Renewed a domain a week before it expired. Went on vacation and when I came back, I noticed that it had expired and had to pay a big fee to "register an expired domain", even though they had charged me for the renewal. Twats!

I had couple of hundreds in the account, but fucked it all and never wanted to have anything to do with them.... until last year. Figured I could reg some domains on the money left in the account and then just transfer them when it was time to renew. My mistake!
For 1-2 months I've been trying to unlock the domains so I can transfer them. Can't do it and support does not want to do it either.

Fuck Registerfly!

I often wonder...is there really that much of a difference in price to use someone that will protect you like directnic? Why do people still trust their livelihoods with a substandard registrar to save a few dollars?

At one time, RegisterFly was actually good. They got great reviews, just as a lot of other registrars, including Directnic.

I've been with regiserfly since they openned, it's not until this last year that they started being devious. (Not that you're making any accusations, or anything. ).

I fear to move domains I stilll have there for the very reason swedguy encoutnered. I'm going to start over. Register a totally new domian with Directnic and pray the don't decide to become scavengers as well.

The domains I still have there and functioning I guess i'll have to take my chances that they will not screw me over and just stop developing them , thus making them attractive to take.

I have a policy which dictates how I conduct business with service providers: the very first time I start feeling one of their fat fingers slipping into my asshole - I grab my stuff and leave. Don't give those cocksuckers another goddamned penny. Transfer your domains to another registrar and make sure you slam the door on your way out.
