Unofficial Webmaster Poll

I was wondering what percentage of Pay/Signup or Revshare most webmasters use. The results would be interesting.

I use mostly revshare, around 75% of my monthly income. That's probably higher than the average since I promote mostly niche sites and single girl personality sites.

I'm with Toby on this. I love CCBill, then nats, then pps. Between CCBill and nats programs made up 85% of last months earnings.

I do things a little different, about half of my income is from recurring AVS's, I also do well with PPS on cam sites, then it's paysite sponsors at about 10% where I almost always use revshare.

I was mostly using PPS for the quick payout but have been switching to some revshare now that my hosting is usually taken care of each month lol. I think I'll be moving more to revshare in the future too, rebills sure are nice

From all the advice I've gotten (said and unsaid ) I decided to stick with revshare right from the beggining.

I'd say I'm 95% revshare.

As far back as a few months ago I probably would have made more money using PPS, but now that I've got a small flow of all things going on my rebills should start to make up the difference.

Revshare is the only way in my opinion.

Some members renew for years

I was just about to ask the same question

At first I thought that this is a no-brainer. The money's got to be in revshare, so I used only reveshare codes.
Now, on my first 5 sites I've had a total of 9 signups, and I'm super happy about that
However, 7 were for revshare and only 1 of those stayed beyond the initial trial
So it seems like I would have done much better with PPS... unless that single one will stay as a member for 5 years or something I guess

Then again, if a sponsor is willing to pay $30 for a 2 dollar signup, it must mean that they average much more than $30 per signup.. right?

I use mostly pps. After looking at my stats for the past few months, I will probably be adding a lot more revshare.

Ever wonder why so many sponsors start up and dissappear 6 months later?

The way I see it, traffic that rebills is what I want most because it fits in line with the type of business I want to run.

For that reason, I focus on seeking out and working with traffic that does just what you described.

Thats my opinion as well. But I only do revshare with ccbill cause I like it. I do it with nats cause I have to. Other programs that give option I choose PPS because I do not have visibility. ccbill programs give the ability to see how long a person has rebilled and whether or not they have canceled yet so you can forecast. I mentioned in another thread that last month sales and rebills were the same at ccbill. Plus 80% had 3 payouts or more. 1 over 3 years, 3 over 2 years, 8 over 1 year and 16 over the 6 mo mark just to give a bit of info. Plus I can see that 11 people have canceled for next month at this time. Bummer

I seen the light when one popular webmaster told me how many rebills he had in one good day...

my experiance with PPS goes - thrive or starve with PPS, the last 2 months I have been building more towards rev share and long term success is more rev share with some pps mixed in as a added bonus...

thing is about changing your biz attack is that it takes to long to see results from PPS to rev share, but if you want to have a worth while income then you have to have a solid rebill income to get you over the rocky times

One of my few sponsors that I get volume bonuses with started showing my conversions from trials(over 50% ), so I am going to start to push more to their revshare program rather than PPS.

I mainly do revshare for the same reasons as Toby posted about niche and solo sites.

The pps model is a payout based on all the income from the site. Many sites that use pps don't have good members areas but rely mostly on cross sales, upsells, member mailouts etc etc. So your payout is a reflection of the total income from the site, not the surfer retention specifically.

Thats all well and good, but I have to admit that even though revshare only rewards you for good retention, revshare has been the big moneymaker for me this year ... whereas pps made me the majority of my income since 2001. All the pps programs I promote have just stopped converting .. strange.

My initial thought is that they don't know what they're doing...or don't know what they're getting into

Yea, no kidding!! LOL!!
But if everyone stayed as a member for years, I'm guessing that there would be even more, and WAY more, competition in this field of biz.

I actually find CCBill's interface to be quite clunky compared to some of my other sponsors stats, but I haven't really gotten into it to much and I guess that that's a preference too.. and if/when I have 300+ rebills with CCBill I might se things differently

Ok.
So is this a BIG diffeence?
Are there categories that ALWAYS convert rebills better than others?

I can see that a 'Teen" category might be a big seller (although I wouldn't even try to touch it with my 10 feet pole ) but since there is SO damn much free good stuff out there, why even bother??

And is a ,say BDSM category, a more worthy rebill target?

I think that by default, most people use more revshare.

As everyone knows, I'm signed up to a lot of programs. The ratio of revshare to PPS is over 2:1

Now, if you ask me which one I make more money from, that's a different story
