whats the difference between Shemale and Transexual??

I thought the 2 words meant the same, but some LL give the option of chosing one or another so...whats the difference?

The only thing I can think of is that transsexual is a clinical description of someone who thinks of themself as the opposite sex to which they were born. Whereas the term shemale implies someone who's happy being a pleasant mixture of both?

But after sex reassignment surgery I suppose a transsexual is really just a he or a she that used to be a she or a he.

How a LL which lists pornographic images of a person with breasts and a penis can tell whether that person is going to have their sex reassigned is beyond me... maybe there's another way to make a distinction? |confused|

Here is something I saved from another board from a few years ago. I think Karla posted this.

A transvestite is usually a heterosexual male who gets his rocks off by dressing in women's clothes or undergarments.
I do believe their are some female transvestites, but that's rare, unless they have a severe case of penis envy, i guess. Cross dressers (see below) are another story.

A transsexual feels they were born and trapped in the body of the opposite sex, and usually seeks sex reassignemnt surgery. They have to live in their role of choice for a period of time and undergo pysch evals prior to hormonal therapy and surgrey under the old and antiquated "harry benjmain standards of care." Many ts's work as shemales or drag queens/kings (see below).

A shemale (aka chick with dick) can be a number of things, but is usually slang for a transsexual, who's doing porn to pay for their srs...Or a trangendered person who is quite happy with the genitals they have and continues to use them in a sexually satisfying manner. They have usually enhanced their female appearance thru cosmetic surgery and/or hormones (as do transsexuals).

A cross dresser can also be any of the above.

Transgender is a "catch all phrase" that covers pretty much all of the above. Keep in mind a transvestite, cross dresser, transsexual, and transgendered person can be either male to female or female to male. Its usually used to define someone who identifies with the opposite sex, gender-wise. Gender is not between your legs.

Other definitions:

draq queen is usually a homosexual male who performs as a female imersonator...As a job...And can be transsexual or transgendered. Of course i've seen some transvestites perform, too. They do it for kicks, i think.

Drag king is usually a lesbian female who performs as a male impersonator as a job...And can be transsexual or transgendered.

By the way, there can be both gay and lesbian vesrions of all of the above. In other words, m2f trannies who prefer women, and f2m trannies that prefer men.
