24 - Best show on television

I swear that two hours last night went by in a flash. I just LOVE this show so much. I have seen each season, and somehow it just keeps getting better and better. Every episode is like a feature movie. So well done, from the writing to the acting. And very nice to see that is receiving its well deserved recognition now.

Is there ever going to be a season where CSU doesn't have a terrorist working for them? I don't like the looks of Chloe’s new boyfriend.

And I saw this on the "24" board
"And how many times are we going to see one of the heroes in a car beat high-speed military helicopters to a target? Are the helicopters held to the same 45 mph speed limit?"

The country is in a panick due to bombings so lets hit a residential neighborhood with an air strike. Even the wife was a little annoyed by that one, but she still loves it.

Your wife wasn't the only one annoyed. You should check out the "24" board. You have to be a hard core fan to sign up to any television show board and it seems that not a lot of those people were thrilled by the inconstancies. And then you have the drudgereport giving out a spoiler for tonight (kind of) As if you couldn't figure out what was going to happen tonight from the kid with the "package" to the previews.

My wife hates the show so I made a deal with her about 5 months ago which included her having to watch 24 with me. I tried to pretend that I was loving it but, I just had to say at the end, "that just sucked". And I even let her off the hook.

I totally agree with you on Chloe's boyfriend. Don't like him at all. However there is no indication now that CTU has an terrorist infiltrator this season. Who do you think is?

And yeah.....there are some corny scenes like with the helicopters, but for the sake of building up some drama, everything cannot be true to life. I can overlook things like that, since I know they do work very hard to make things as realistic as possible.

It's also true that you have to pretty much enjoy whining to sign up to a television show board. Negative people like their voices to be heard the loudest. I'm sure that 99.9% of the 30 million people who enjoy the show, would not hang out at the shows message board.

I agree with you Lorsha that you have to build up drama and that it gets a bit over the top to do it.

Either way, the wife and I will be watching it again tonight. Gotta get past the beginning set up shows for the season. Always gets better once they get past the first shows which may be why they put 4 hours on you up front so they can get into the good stuff. At least thats what we are hoping for.

I think this is the season that we learn that a terrorist isn't always the one who looks like a terrorist. I think Chloe's guy looks too much like a terrorist to be one this time (though maybe he did some work for some of them in the past).

On the helicopters, I just suspended disbelief by imagining they were coming from much farther away than Jack's starting point.

I liked the opening premise of being tortured by one group for nearly two years, finally freed by your own people, then being told you were freed so they could turn you over to someone else who'll be torturing you from now on. And the 'wrong terrorist' twist was a good idea too I thought.

Yeah, I'll be watching tonight too.

But the right terrorist must have never seen a Batman and Robin episode. You never tell the plan to someone no matter how much you think they are about to die

I tend to agree with Simon about Chloe’s boyfriend, it’s that skinny fuck with the Wayne Newton mustache that I don’t trust.

You guys are probably right. And, it would be good to go through one season without someone bad on the inside.

What the hell was that? If you were Jack, what would you be thinking?
You got me out just to give me to someone else to get beat for a
whole different reason. Jack's going postal this season.

Lets see what tonight brings

I loved it when Chloe said to Jack “I never thought I would hear your voice again”.
Ya think so? He’s only been presumed dead . . . oh 5 or 6 times before.

Well, last night didn't fail to live up to the hype Unlike most things, the drudge report got it right.

I can't believe they are offering the last 4 hours on DVD with a sneak preview of next week. So, if anyone missed the first 4 hours, they are available on DVD today I wonder if they are going to do that after every 4 hours. If not, who the hell wants only the first 4 hours of a season?

Last night was great. Was nice to have Jack show some vulnerability at the end. Poor guy always has a "tad" too much on his plate.

Going to be a great season!

My traffic dipped a noticeable amount between 8 and 10, I'm wondering if this "24" is good or not

With the ratings that the Golden Globes and 24 got last night, I'm surprised anyone was online.

Lost my internet connection for 24 hours. New modem and a couple lines and its better than it has been for a year. The only good news was that it went down before I went to the drudge report. So I did not expect the bomb to go off last night. I just expected them to stop it just in time but find out there is more.

Now its time to see how they portray us in Los Angeles during this. Pretty much a Rodney King type verdict should cover. People looting stores though their face is falling off, gangs shooting everybody, car fires, mayhem, etc...

As Randy Newman put it, "I Love L.A."

LOL
