Go Daddy, anyone?

I am planning on moving to a different host...looking for reliable, virtual (non-dedicated) hosting. I have heard a few good things about GoDaddy, their site is pretty informative and seem to have good customer service...

Thoughts?

On a related note, when moving, I'm assuming it's best to sign up and move everything before transferring the domain name...correct>?

I don't think godaddy likes adult sites.

The best host I can think of right now is http://www.colo-cation.com a lot of people from this board are hosted there.

Do not host with godaddy. Host with a company that is IN the hosting biz. Colocation, phatservers, mojohost, splitinfinity and many others are out there.

If you want top support, great speed and instant answers to any questions you might end up having, then colo-cation is it. Go daddy is good if you are not going to need any support, install any scripts or programs and if slow speed is not an issue.

Just my 2 cents, others might have other opinions.

Thanks for the replies. Colo-cation is very highly recommended here, however I sent them an email inquiring about their services a couple of days ago and never rec'd a reply. Not a very good first impression, although I'm sure they are good since they have a lot of satisfied customers and come highly recommended.

I ended up with GoDaddy. Say what you will, they were excellent at answering questions, and replied promtly to my setup questions. And they welcome adult sites....

Their control panel is screwy, imo, and their website is cluttered with all kinds of domain auctions and what have you...but overall I can't complain (yet). So far so good...

Like the rest have recommended Colo-cation is at the top of my list so far. I want to do a little bit more research before I pull the trigger so to speak. I have had no problems with GoDaddy as far a domain registrations go fast and quick.

A friend of mine just left GoDaddy for hosting due to them being complete assholes when it came to script help. They don't have an issue with adult content, but when you need help installing adult scripts, they arn't very willing to help.

I host through GoDaddy alot of people have had problems, me included tech support sucks but my site is always up and its cheap. Good for starting out I think. I wouldnt stay with them forever, but its good if your a small guy. They do allow adult. Don't spam really anywhere which you shouldnt anyway but if you do I have heard they will pull your site. Just what I have heard.
Dont buy any domains through them, just host a small site
