Too Much Banners?

Aloha Everyone,

I have recently put up a blog nitevids.comand asked everyone to give me a crtique.

I got a critique from a very reliable person (Hammer) says that I have to much banners. I tend to think so also. What is a good way to remove the banners but keep a good amount of affiliates so I can aggressively market them. Textlinks are so boring and I would like to keep only the best converters as banners but really don't know which are the best convertors yet.

I currently post blogs for each one but as I post new blogs they get replaced and the user may not see them?

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated thank you.

text links actually work better than banners - too many banners and you have a banner farm.

Banners serve one useful function. Alt text with your keyword or phrase in the text are read by search engines.
You also mention text links are boring, they too are important to a search engine as well.
If you have too many banners they will also slow down loading time of your page

Ok thanks took banners off and put text links instead.

I believe you should mix up the banners and text. I would never say you should have no banners, as some surfers will click the banners, however, if you have too many then the site is not as effective either.

Banners not only help you sell the sponsor you are promoting, but they also provide a way to separate sections of your blog. So use the banners where it makes sense.

Looking at your site, you have two banners, back to back, for Porn Wars. That's too much. One banner is more than enough. Also, I would put the banner at the end of the text. Do your sales pitch then have the banner.

You have several images that appear to be thumbs but are actually blind links...not a good idea. Put some content on the page,a nd make it very clear that its free content. You want to show the surfers what they get if they click the banner as this is part of your sales pitch.

Every webmaster has different ideas on how to best build a blog, so learn from everyone.
