VISA site approval time?
How long does it generally take VISA to approve a paysite? CCbill is usually pretty fast, but I'm finding VISA is taking a long time. Last site was about 4 weeks. Is this normal? What's the fastest they can do it?

a month or so ago it was all messed up. i put a bunch of sites in, 2 weeks later i put in another site, and then that site comes back and the others still weren't approved. took about a month for some of them. its a good idea to call them about it regularly and make sure its not caught up somewhere.

Since when does Visa approve sites? To my knowledge they don't. Could you possibly be mistaking Visa with the acquiring bank?
FWIW, we can get you approved within about a week provided you get all the required paperwork back to us in a timely manner. ![]() |

I think they are a European company and things may work a little different over there. Not positive on that.

UW...euh...yes I do which is the reason for my comment. The credit card companies don't typically get involved with approving websites; they give the acquiring banks guidelines and the acquiring bank interprets those guidelines. This is how content policies can differ across payment processing companies. Also, in this way, if the CC companies don't like something they always have recourse since they never approved the site in the first place. Most people don't understand this and often think that it is indeed the CC companies doing the approval when it's not.
