Over compressed Images

What is an indicator that an image is overcompressed? Can anyone show me an example of one that is perfectly compressed and one that is over compressed so I can see what I'm shooting for here.

Three more examples (Munchies is gonna kill me for this )

Bad: PhotoShop compressing Munchies too much (1 in PhotoShop) - notice the distortion in the hair and face.

Better: PhotoShop compressing Munchies properly (10 in PhotoShop) - notice the crisp clean lines.

Best: Me compressing Munchies perfectly (10 in my book) Shit - her face is distorted again
