Which page of your free sites sends most traffic?
I swear Entrance pages are the Devil...they're already covered in recip links, no-one has any reason to hang around on them after the second or two it takes for them to find the 'Enter' button, and they'll never come back to it. So filling the entrance with ads feels really redundant - because surely surfers are at least going to give your gallery pages a glance before going to your sponsor site?
^I'm guessing that what I just wrote is bs, and that I'm about to be told that the entrance page is very important one in terms of generating sponsor traffic. So I guess my question(s) is sort of: What page (Entrance, Main, Gallery 1, Gallery 2) of your free sites typically sends most traffic to your sponsor? How important is advertising on the entrance page? Thanks! |

For me it is a close tie between my index page and my main page with my gallery pages coming in third.

Hi Hoccleve
![]() As a general rule I get more clicks to the sponsor from my index pages, but most of the sales come from my main pages. Like Greenie said, the clicks from the indexes can often be just on impulse or from catchy graphics/text. Generally the surfer is not "primed" for a sale that soon which is why I make more sales from the main page. Every page of your site should have a very specific purpose and barring the odd sales, its the whole package/presentation that ultimately determines how ready the surfer is to go waddling off to the sponsor site. ![]() I hope this helps! |
